Obituary for Al Garcia
Al Garcia, age 83, of Janesville, WI, died Wednesday, December 04, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Janesville. Al was born on February 20, 1930, in San Antonio, TX, the son of Jose E. Garcia and Margarita Ortiz. He had worked in maintenance at the Newell Corporation in Chicago for many years, retiring in 1991. Al was a simple man and a very considerate, helpful person who always thought of others first. He loved being on the go and could always be counted on for help. Al was a very active and caring father and grandfather and loved playing with his grandkids.
Al leaves behind four children: Gloria Rodriguez of Janesville; Bobby, Rindy and Brandia; 14 grandchildren: Orlando, Jed, Ismael, Jose, Stacy, Christina, Surgeo, May, Matt, Chato, Melissa, Nick, Miranda and Samantha; 14 great-grandchildren; and many others that called him "Grampa Al".
According to Al's wishes, he will be cremated and no local services are planned at this time. A celebration of Al's life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Paradise Lounge in Madison, WI. Hansen Funeral Home, Janesville, is assisting the family.
