Obituary for Albert J. "Al" Caltagerone, Jr.
Albert Joseph "Al" Caltagerone, Jr., age 61, of Janesville, WI, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville. Al was born June 27, 1954, in Rockford, IL, the son of Albert Joseph and Margaret Helen (Helgeson) Caltagerone, Sr. He graduated from Guilford High School in 1972. Al worked at the family bar, the Cloverleaf, for a number of years, and later was employed by the Laborers Union until retirement. He was an excellent pool player and played on numerous tavern leagues over the years. Al's other passion was fishing and he was ready to fish at any opportunity. He particularly enjoyed fishing at his friend's Rick and Judy's place on the river and also spending time with his childhood friends fishing at Lost Lake in St. Germain. Al's fun-loving and caring nature will be missed by all that knew him. Al is survived by his daughter and two sons: Gina Caltagerone (Mike Slinde), Phillip Caltagerone and Michael Caltagerone, all of Janesville; two grandsons; two sisters and two brothers: Sandra DeRosso of Houston TX, Philip (Lori) Caltagerone of Machesney Park, IL, Chera (Jim) Gibb of North Carolina, Thomas Caltagerone of Janesville; special cousin, Carol (Rasmussen) Tracey, who was like a sibling to Al growing up; the mothers of his children: Teri Clough of Beloit and Stacey Williams of Janesville; also cousins, nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering in celebration of Al's life will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Fast Eddy's, 1704 Rockport Rd., Janesville. Memorials may be made to the family.
