Obituary for Beverly Ann Spangler
Beverly Ann Spangler, age 76, of Milton, WI, left this world on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at home surrounded by her family. Beverly was born on February 16, 1937, in Janesville, WI, to John and Genevieve Blute. Beverly graduated from Milton Union High School in 1955. On September 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to Donald C. Spangler in Dearborn, MI. Don died June 23, 2003. The couple moved to Philadelphia and later Washington, D.C., to start their new life together while Donald served his country in the U.S. Navy. After the birth of their third child, Don and Beverly decided to return home to Wisconsin, where they would remain for the rest of their lives. Beverly was a great wife, mother and business woman. She raised seven children and during this time also co-founded Area Telephone Secretaries. The business went on to become the most successful answering service in Southern Wisconsin. She retired from the business in 1993 in order to spend more time with family and friends. Beverly was also active in several local bowling leagues and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton. She will be remembered for her fierce devotion to her family and her willingness to always be there for anyone who needed her help. Beverly never forgot a birthday or anniversary and could always be counted on to put a smile on your face. Her great joy in life was having her children and grandchildren by her side and, of course, cheering for her beloved Green Bay Packers. Even as her illness progressed, she was always able to gather enough strength to watch her "Green and Gold". Beverly also enjoyed playing slot machines and her favorite place to play was Lake Tahoe, Nevada, with her family and two sisters.

Beverly is survived by her seven children: Norbert (Jennifer) Spangler of Janesville; Timothy Spangler of Janesville; Zachary Spangler of Colchester, CT; Toby (Amy) Spangler of Madison, WI; Eric (Melissa) Spangler of Janesville; Colette (Adel) Gobran of Newington, CT; Beth Ann (David) Young of Janesville; eight grandchildren: Ross Spangler, Emily Spangler, Kyra Anne Simpson, Stephanie Spangler, Nicholas Spangler, Jack Spangler, Lauren Spangler, Shane Spangler; two sisters: Helen Jean Richardson of Corona, CA, and Bernice (James) Galvin of Placentia, CA; many nieces and nephews; and her long-time feline companion, Tommy Angel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 837 Parkview Dr., Milton, with Fr. David Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Milton. Hansen Funeral Home, Janesville, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hansenfh.com
