Obituary for Francis Edwin "Fran" Russell
Francis Edwin "Fran" "Frank" Russell, age 97, a resident of Evansville Manor, Evansville, WI, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at William Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, Madison, WI. Fran was born on July 29, 1916, in Raywick, KY, the son of Charles David and Mary Emma (Mitchell) Russell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II, and later worked as a floor-covering salesman for many years throughout the area. Fran was a former member of St. John Vianney and St. Patrick Catholic Churches in Janesville and achieved the Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his son, Larry R. Russell of Janesville; his daughter, Barbara Kunkler of Water Valley, MS; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Fran was predeceased by a daughter, Janice Geroux, and also nine siblings.
