Obituary for Margaret Ellen "Mickey" Fairfield
Margaret Ellen "Mickey" Fairfield, age 96, of Janesville, died Thursday, August 1, 2013, at home. Mickey was born in Janesville, WI, on October 24, 1916, the daughter of John and Elsie (Deatwiler) Garske. She married Eugene Kenneth "Geno" Fairfield on October 23, 1937, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Janesville. Geno and Mickey were married 70 years before Geno died October 24, 2007. Mickey was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and its Altar Society, and was active in the Boy Scouts, the Janesville Bowling Association and her breakfast club. Mickey was always known to be very caring to family and others in need.
Survivors include three children: Stephanie Pruitte of Janesville, Felicia "Lisha" (Billie) Barwick of Roanoke, IN, Jeff (Pat) Fairfield of Pahrump, NV; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Alice Miller. In addition to her husband, Geno, Mickey was predeceased by her daughter, Diana Clark, and two sisters, Elaine Kerl and Joan Garske.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 315 Cherry St., Janesville, with Fr. James Kuhn presiding. Visitations will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, Janesville, and also from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Wednesday at the church. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Janesville. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Church or Mercy Hospice, 901 Mineral Point Rd., Janesville, WI, 53545.
