Obituary for Phyllis E. Steinke
Phyllis Eillen Steinke, age 81, of Janesville, WI, died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital in Madison. Phyllis was born January 1, 1933, in Janesville, the daughter of Mark Edward and Susan Rosella (Werrell) Houghton. She married Thomas Gustav Steinke September 11, 1954, at St. William Catholic Church in Janesville. Tom died October 1, 2011. Phyllis worked at Parker Pen and later was the cook at Parker High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Janesville.
Survivors include one daughter and four sons: Kelly (Bradley) Wenzel, William (Kelly) Steinke, Mark (Donna) Steinke, all of Janesville, Dan (Tammy) Steinke, Fort Atkinson, WI, Mike Steinke of Fort Wayne, IN; six grandchildren: Christopher (Ally) Steinke, Brian (Kelly Fox) Steinke, Sarah (Jason) Douglas, Mark Steinke, Jr., Jessica (Josh) Molter, Amanda Wenzel; six great-grandchildren: Keegan & Owen Steinke, William & Benjamin Steinke, Ryan & Keely Douglas; and special friend, Mary Ellen Steinke of Brodhead.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 313 E. Wall St., Janesville, with Fr. Stephen Umhoefer presiding. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the church. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Janesville.
