Obituary for William James "Bill" Kober
EVANSVILLE-William James "Bill" Kober, age 80, of Evansville, WI, died Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, WI. Bill was born on April 13, 1934, in Janesville, WI, the son of William James and Claire Helen (Langenfeld) Kober, Sr. He was a 1952 graduate of Janesville High School and a 1956 graduate of Milton College. Bill married Betty A. Wilson on September 8, 1956, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Janesville. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served from 1956 to 1962, and taught biology at Evansville High School for 32 years. Bill loved to hunt and fish and was an avid Cubs fan and poker enthusiast. He also had a love for Dixieland music.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Betty of Evansville; his daughter, Cynthia (David) Zimmerman of Green Lake, WI; his son, James Kober of Milton, WI; four grandchildren: Elizabeth Zimmerman, Kimberly (Tyler) Rahn, Natalie and Valerie Kober; four great-grandchildren: Jackson and Myla Rahn, Aiden and Remi Zimmerman; and his grand-puppy, Charlotte. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by two sisters, Catherine Kober and Mary Schroeder.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014, at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, Janesville, with Fr. Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Janesville.
