Obituary for Janice M. Smith
Janice Mae Smith, age 77, a resident of St. Elizabeth Home in Janesville, WI, and former resident of Orfordville, WI, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center, Janesville. Janice was born on November 10, 1938, in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of John Emil and Mildred Josephine (Johnson) Sinner. Janice married Martin Denman in 1960. She later married George Smith in 1981 in Rockford, IL. George died September 18, 2013. Janice worked at Industrial Coils in Baraboo and at Parkview High School in Orfordville.
Survivors include three children: Dale Denman of Nekoosa, WI; Dianna Denman and Daniel Denman, both of Janesville; four grandchildren: Justin, Ryan and Will Denman, and Andrew Sletten; a sister, Joyce (John) Litscher; a brother, Gene (Audrey) Sinner, both of Baraboo; sisters-in-law, Mary Sinner and Deetta Amdahl; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Martha, whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents and her husband, George, Janice was predeceased by two brothers, J. Virgil Sinner and Duane E. (Florence) Sinner.
A Graveside Committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016, at Orfordville Lutheran Cemetery in Orfordville, with Pastor Andy Twiton officiating. There is no visitation. Hansen Funeral Home, Janesville, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hansenfh.com
The family extends their thanks to everyone at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home for their wonderful care of Janice, with special thanks to Sister Faustina, Debbie, Amanda, Erika, Jody R., Jody S. and Pam for all their love and support. Thanks also to everyone at Mercy Dialysis Center for their great care of Janice, especially Margaret, and a special good-bye to all her friends at St. Elizabeth Home and Mercy Dialysis.
