Obituary for John V. Lucey
John Victor Lucey, age 67, of Janesville, took flight on the wings of an eagle to Heaven on Thursday, August 8, 2013. John was born in Janesville on October 5, 1945, the son of Victor Paul and Verna Ann (Wileman) Lucey. He married his best friend and soul mate, Patricia Rae Cady, on March 29, 2003. John was a member of St. William Catholic Church. He worked many years at Chambers & Owen Company and was a Badgers, Brewers and Packer fan. He was a hardworking man, a gentle soul and he loved all of God's creatures. John found great joy in the simple things, such as gathering with his family to paint Easter eggs, decorate Christmas cookies, work on projects with his stepsons and son-in-law, attend family cookouts, or just relax in his backyard with Pattie, listening to their waterfall. John had an infectious laugh and a smile that brightened a room! His family deeply misses him.

Survivors include John's wife, Pattie Lucey; his daughter, Angela (Jamie) Jacobsen; a step-daughter, Lisa (Mark) Jummrich; two stepsons, John Kauffman and Gregg (Tammy) Kauffman, all of Janesville; Aunt Anne Lucey; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; numerous cousins; and his furry kids, Lady, Peanut and Casper. John was predeceased by his parents and aunts and uncles.

A private family committal service was held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Milton, WI. Father John Auby officiated. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice or Mercy Hospital, Janesville. Hansen Funeral Home, Janesville, assisted the family. Online condolences may be made at
