Obituary for Shirley Fae Adams
Shirley Fae (Smith) Adams, age 73, of Milton, WI, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. Shirley was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Wauzeka, WI, to Cleone (Daly) and Joseph Smith. She was the youngest of 11 children. Shirley graduated from Boscobel High School in 1957, where she loved cheerleading and was a cheer team captain. Shirley married Blaine H. Adams on December 15, 1957, in Wauzeka. They had four children. Shirley was a loving housewife and mother, active as a Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, School Room Mom, PTA activities, Jaycettes, and was chosen D.A.R. Woman of the Year. She would spend hours with her children drawing, playing Yahtzee and board games, baking and cooking wonderful meals for her family. There was always extra room at the table for her children's friends, grandchildren's friends or anyone who showed up. She was an adopted mom or grandma to many. In later years Shirley loved to travel and RV with her husband and family. Her favorite anniversary destination was Las Vegas. In 1972, Shirley and Blaine opened The Island of Fine Gifts in Milton. A maternity and bridal shop soon followed. Shirley never had the "dream wedding" (just the dream marriage) and she loved helping others create theirs for more than 30 years at Bride's Number One in Milton.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 55 years, Blaine of Milton; four children: Vicki (William) Millis of Milton; Pamela Adams of Milton; Blaine Todd (Erin) Adams of Fort Wayne, IN; Joycelyn (Matthew) Miller of Milton; 18 adored grandchildren: Vicki's children: Sarah (Joe) Davis, Robert M. Starks, Salisa (Derek) Wallace, Martha (Seth) Marsden, William J. Millis; Pamela's children: Blaine Thomas (Andria), Breanna; Blaine Todd's children: Zachary, Brooke, Blaine H. Jr., Stephanie, Hilary; Joycelyn's children: Christian, Colin, Carson, Hannah, Lauryn, Masyn; four adored great grandchildren: Chase, Emily, Casten, Chloe; siblings: Raymond, Marjean, Joyce, Connie; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family services will be held. Assisting the family is Brian Hansen Funeral Service, Janesville. Online condolences may be made at www.hansenfh.com .
