Obituary for Margaret Mary "Peggy" McKeown
Margaret Mary "Peggy" McKeown, age 72, of Janesville, died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at home. Peggy was born in Janesville on May 13, 1941, the daughter of Francis Augustus "Frank" and Margaret Mary (Torney) McKeown. She had worked as a waitress in various local restaurants, including Larry and Phyl's Ice Cream and Hobby Shop in Janesville and Bjork's Restaurant in Brodhead, and also as an assembler at Accudyne in Janesville. Peggy was a former member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Janesville and U.A.W. Local 95 Women's Committee.
Survivors include her two sons: Michael David McKeown, Sr.; Brian Francis McKeown, both of Janesville; one grandson, Michael David McKeown, Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Renee; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by three sisters: Kathy Porterfield, Maureen Leeder, Martha Homan; six brothers: Hugh, Raymond, John, Dominic, Francis and Lawrence McKeown.
Private family services will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Janesville. Assisting the family is Hansen Funeral Home, Janesville.
